Ministry Safe: Sexual Abuse Awareness Training
On Thursday, March 6 from 6:30-8:30 pm, we would like to encourage any adults (18+ years old) who serve in a role around kids, whether that's at CCC or in another capacity to join us for a Sexual Abuse Awareness Training. This training is to reduce the risk of child sexual abuse. When leaders and volunteers are equipped with the 'eyes to see' the grooming process of an abuser and key indicators of child sexual abuse, they are better able to protect children in their care.
The training will take place here at CCC. The training is delivered in video format, lasting about one hour. Content Warning // abuse, sexual abuse, pedophilia. There will be a short break halfway through the video. At the end of the video training, small discussion groups will debrief what they learned. To learn more visit Awareness Training | MinistrySafe.
It is not required, but strongly encouraged for Children's and Youth Ministry volunteers. However, before registering, all individuals should carefully consider whether the content may be too intense for them. If the content becomes too much during the training, participants are free to leave the room at any point. Please sign up if interested in the training. If you can't make it that day, please sign up and we will be in contact to get you access to the training.
