A request for prayer
Last night at “The Altar” (our once-a-quarter contemporary worship service), I shared the need for our church family to pray for CCC’s growth. For those of you who couldn’t make it – and as a reminder for those of you who did -- let me share that need.
CCC is growing. This is good, and is consistent with God’s plan for His church (Acts 2:47; 6:7; 9:31). However, we’re not sure how to accommodate this growth with our current facility and services.
We’ve thought of a few ideas:
• We could expand our current facility, build a bigger one or even relocate to a different site
• We could add additional services – Saturday/Sunday night, 3 Sunday morning services, etc.
• We could try a creative concept like a video venue (streamed to another part of building)
There may be other ideas we haven’t even thought of yet. But here’s the point – since WE don’t know, we absolutely must ask the One who DOES know – our heavenly Father. We (Elders and Staff) have taken the words of Dr. Barney Wells from LCU seriously:
“We can guess at things, but God knows the answers. Spend a lot of time in prayer.”
So the Elder Team is asking that the CCC “family of love and truth” take this request for prayer seriously and make this issue a matter of daily prayer. If you’d like an even more specific focus, the Elders and Leader Team will be meeting in a combined session on Sunday, June 13th to discuss this very subject – you can make that date a prayer target.
James 1:5 says, If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. Please ask God to give the CCC Leadership the wisdom to know God’s will, and the courage and strength to carry it out.
Blessings!
Bob
